The Alchimist

For the "brave" amoungst you fighting their way out of the bed for a sunday walk in November's greily gleam i am recommending a walk towards Brandenburger Tor, Pariser Platz and taking the chance of getting in touch with the work of German Berlin-born photographer Heinz Hajek-Halke (1898 - 1983) by visiting his exhibiton in the Academy of Arts ending by tonight!
Over 200 selected works will give you a slight understanding of the great German photo artist from the 20th century falling into oblivion from time to time. By going through the exhibition you might not get rid of the association with the works of Hungarian László Moholy-Nagy for Bauhaus and the 1920s. Heinz Hajek-Halke's photo art of the 50's and 60's is simply genuine. No Photoshop. No Lightroom. No InDesign. The simple symbiosis of chemical
solutions, the darkroom and an infinite
                                          creativity.

When: last day of exhibition today, sunday November 4th, 11am - 7pm
Where: Akademie der Künste , Pariser Platz 4, 10117 Berlin
Tickets: 6€, reduced 4€
