It is Rick Genest alias Rico also known as 'Zombie Boy' who catched all eyes of the fashion world since the Mugler show at Paris men's fashionweek. After Nicola Formichetti spotted Rico on Facebook the Montreal-native immediately walked in the Mugler menswear show on january 19th. For his eternaly bodyart Rick spent more than 24 hours of tattoos and over £4,075. He describes his tattoos as a tribute to horror movies which he always loved and somehow finally realised his childhood dream to become a zombie.
Anyway, the closest thing I could get to becoming a zombie was to get tattooed like one. I see my tattoos as celebrating the art of obscenity and the macabre.
You might have noticed Rick Genest already alongside Lady Gaga in the video for her new single 'Born This Way'. Now the new skeleton tattooed muse of Lady Gaga's Stylist Nicola Formichetti does appear in the Mugler 2011 fall/winter men's ad campaign, is the center of attention in the Vogue Hommes Japan Spring/Summer 2011 editorial "Hard To Be Passive" and will be found in the next GQ Style issue, too.
Rick went from obscurity to fashion fame in no time and way more people should share his philosophy of life:
You’ve got to respect that everyone’s different and has to do what they’ve got to do. I can’t tell you what to do, you can’t tell me what to do – but we can still get along just great.
